什么是波动率指数（VIX）
波动率在金融市场中起着相当重要的作用，可以说金融资产的本质就是买卖波动率。最著名的衡量隐含波动率的指标之一就是芝加哥期权交易所（CBOE）的波动率指数（VIX）。
VIX实质上是对标准普尔500指数预期波动幅度的度量，它代表着标普500在接下来的12个月内从当前价格上涨或下跌的预期百分比。举例来讲，如果VIX处于20（%）的水平，则市场预期标普500在接下去12个月内将上涨或下跌20%（61.8%的情况下）。我们还可以通过计算得出单周或者单日的预期波动幅度。
VIX和标普500的关系
当市场动荡不安、充满不确定性的时候，VIX往往会走高，最典型的就是全球金融危机以及今年的新冠疫情期间VIX的飙升。从历史数据观察可以发现，VIX和标普500之间呈现较强的负相关性，即当VIX（绿色）走出阶段新高时，标普500（黑色）往往触底甚至崩盘。这也是为什么VIX又被称为“恐慌指数”。

VIX的交易遥不可及？
VIX本身是无法交易的，投资者可以交易VIX的期货以及期权产品，但这些产品的高门槛和复杂程度让很多投资者望而却步。

您可以直接交易VIX指数。如果您认为短期内标普500的波动率会因为美国的疫情重燃、国内抗议活动、或大选局势而产生更大的波动，您可以买入VIX。如果您认为美股前景一片向好，波动率将显著降低，则可以卖出VIX。
你还可以通过VIX进行风险管理。如果您拥有股票或股指产品的多头（空头）头寸，您还可以通过买入（卖出）VIX进行一定程度的风险对冲。另外，还可以根据VIX计算出每日的预期波动幅，从而对股指CFD的持仓进行动态且合理的止损设置。
